- Coffee break or aperitif with local specialties
In detail:
We will enter in the secret life of an art studio of the area, we will visit the artists workspaces, we will observe their work. Especially we will explore the collection of plaster models of the ancient artworks kept in the studio, which includes interesting casts from works by Michelangelo, Canova, examples of classical statuary, curiosities and lesser known works. Then we will approach the ancient technique of the cast with a brief introduction to techniques and materials. Each of the participants, with the guidance of the artists will make a cast choosing one of the small bas-relievs of the Studio collection. At the end each one will be able to take home his own bas-relief.

Overview
Our Artists: Gabriele and Caterina
Studio17 is an artistic laboratory and a space for research and contamination in dialogue with ancient techniques and traditional materials. The atelier was founded in 2009 by Caterina Sbrana and Gabriele Mallegni, two artists who met and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara.
Studio17 is an art and design laboratory, deeply rooted in its territory, with international experience to its credit.
The two founding artists of the studio collect many of the materials and textures that characterize their works and objects right in the landscape of the Pisan Mountains and on the Serchio river, some of these objects represent a sort of “landscape containers”.
